Pedro Sauer Team takes 1st at NAGA Chicago
Cicero, Illinois - November 7th, 2004
NAGA
returned to Chicago for a 2-Day action packed weekend of Gi and
No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu competition. The two day event consisted of over
100 different divisions, as NAGA always does, once again providing
competitors with a well organized day of tournament competition.
The
tournament was supported by many of the top BJJ teams in the World
such as Carlson Gracie Team, Gracie Barra, Brazilian Top Team,
McVicker/Megaton, Master Alliance, Renzo-Serra, Jorge Gurgel,
Combat-Do and of course Pedro Sauer Team.
Pedro
Sauer’s team was lead by Jeff Curran, Greg Nelson and Henry
Matamoros. The team was impressive winning medals in almost every
Gi division that took place. In a short period of time, Pedro
Sauer team members from the surrounding schools were able to come
together with the result winning the NAGA PRO AM Team Cup.
Overall,
the tournament was a great experience and has sparked the interest
of many competitors to pursue future tournaments in the area.
Next on the list is Jeff Curran’s first hosted National
Level tournament to take place at his 15,000 sq. ft. Jiu-Jitsu
facility in Crystal Lake (northwest Chicago land) Illinois. The
scheduled date is Sat, February 5th, 2005. Pedro Sauer, among
others will be in attendance.
