Jeff's UFC Debut vs. Matt "The Terror" Serra on Jan 31st

Jeff Recently made his debut in the UFC 46: Super Natural show that took place in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on January 31, 2004. Jeff, taking the fight on 9 days notice and giving up 20 lbs, took the fight without hesitation. "I feel like this was my chance to show the world what I am made of", says Jeff. The fight went to a judges decision after 3 Five minute rounds of action. Both Matt Serra and Jeff being black belts under Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, the ground action was intense. Matt managed to keep the pressure on Jeff, forcing Jeff to play defense for a large portion of each round. Even though Jeff had the better chance to stand on his feet and throw punches against the stronger Serra, he felt comfortable in his ground fighting abilities. "I live Jiu-Jitsu...It's what I do" said Jeff when asked about his reason for testing the BJJ expert Matt Serra, who has beaten the likes of Jean Jaques Machado in the prestigious Abu Dhabi tournament as well as winner of a Gold Medal in the Pan Ams and World Championships in Brazil as Brown Belt in 1999.
