As Team Curran fighters Jeff Curran and Bart Palaszewski prepare for the upcoming XFO 3 Event in Lakemoor, Illinois, they manage to squeeze out another set of impressive victories over their Japanese opponents in the TV aired event ZST. ZST is a Mixed Martial Arts competition that is very popular in Tokyo and all over Japan. ZST is aired on Cable TV for hundreds of thousands of fans to witness.

Bart Palsazewski, also known as Bartimus, found a tough Japanese fighter in Okuda for his Japan debut who was willing to exchange punches from the bell. Bartimus was able to defend a couple early submission attacks forcing his opponent to stand up and bang a little more. During the next exchange of punches, Bartimus landed a strong right hand that dropped Okuda to the mat. The referee jumped in quickly to stop the bout, giving Bartimus the win by KO.

In one of two main events scheduled for the ZST 6 fight card, Jeff Curran faced ex-shooto champion Mashahiro Oishi. Curran, a UFC Veteran and considered one of the top 5 featherweights in the world, is coming off a 2 fight win streak over Dan Swift and Japanese fighter Kimihito Nonaka. Curran has been showing his Jiu-Jitsu skills by submitting his last 2 bouts. His streak wasn’t about to end as he faced Oishi, another skilled grappler. Curran opened the fight with a devastating inside leg kick that off balanced Oishi. Oishi tried to counter with some punched but none landed. Curran stepped in and through a sharp left hook that looked to almost KO Oishi. Oishi showed his ability to take a punch but shot for a takedown out of desperation. Curran put on a Guillotine Choke and pulled Oishi to his Guard. Oishi scrambled to escape but failed and was choked unconscious. Curran let go and stood up, winning by submission for his 3rd straight victory. This fight confirmed Curran's spot in the ZST Grand Prix tournament to begin November 3rd, 2004 in Tokyo, Japan. ZST GP is an 8 man tournament featuring 8 of the most skilled 143 lb (65kg) fighters in ZST and in the world.

Next up for Curran before the ZST GP is his 3 round main event vs. Jason Dent in XFO 3. For more information on XFO 3 visit www.x-fighting.tv
